Stephanie and Adam held their beautiful wedding at the Inn at the Round Barn Farm in Waitsfield, Vermont this past August. Stephanie had booked me to photograph their wedding without meeting in person, and it wasn’t until the day of the wedding when we all finally met. I was excited to get to know these guys and after just the first few minutes of photographing them, I was so glad they found me! Within the first 5 minutes Adam was offering me a Heady Topper (Vermont’s premier and now legendary beer; so tasty and hard to find on any store shelf). It had been so long since I saw a cold can of Heady Topper that I indulged myself. I consider this beer in a similar category as our best maple syrup… ‘liquid gold’. So that was a cool thing I found out about the Round Barn Farm; they have ‘the in’ with the local brewery ‘the Alchemist’ and stock their fridges with the so hard to find, holy grail of I.P.A… ‘Heady Topper’. What a treat for their guests who love craft beer! Back to Stephanie and Adam; such a sweet and chill couple. They were so easy to work with. It was a magical day because of our luck with the weather. It rained on and off that afternoon, right up to the ceremony. I remember Stephanie’s dad going back and forth to the window to see if the skies would clear up. We were all a bit worried from the rain pouring as the couple was getting ready. Then just as the ceremony was about to start, the rain suddenly stopped, the skies cleared, and their beautiful ceremony was held outside. I was able to do all the ‘formal’ photos with clear skies, and the guests enjoyed lawn games during the cocktail hour. Then just as the reception began, the rain came again…but at this point it didn’t matter. Everyone had moved inside the barn to start the party. How lucky we all were that day in terms of the weather! It was great to be back at the Inn at the Round Barn; it reminded me what a magical venue this is. The historic barn is not the only amazing thing; when you look at the grounds with all the flowers and breathtaking gardens you feel like you’re in a fairy tale…it’s so beautiful! Their staff and food are also nothing short of stellar. Stephanie and Adam are a beautiful couple and their wedding was such a fun day. I’m so glad you guys found me. It was a pleasure to photograph your wedding, and I wish you all the very best!
