Aislan’s Newborn Session | Vermont Newborn Photographer

A few weeks back I had the pleasure of photographing Aislan’s newborn session. Aislan and her proud parents, Megan & Matt rode the ferry from New York State across Lake Champlain to meet me at my studio in Colchester, Vermont. I’m guessing this was Aislan’s first big adventure since leaving the hospital! Kim was referred to me by a colleague at the hospital; Kendra, who’s wedding and son’s newborn session I had photographed. Thanks for sharing the love, Kendra! As the holiday season was approaching we used some props to get a few images which would make for a great Christmas card. Matt brought his guitar along and played soft music to help Aislan fall asleep in between feeding and photographs. We even slipped the guitar in for a few fun images. Aislan did great and was a pleasure to work with. It was great to meet Megan and Matt and their beautiful little angel. I look forward to seeing Aislan as she grows! Brynn Rose, Newborn Session, Vermont Newborn Photographer

I am so happy for Taryn and TJ with the arrival of their beautiful daughter Brynn Rose! Over the years Taryn and TJ have become more than good clients to me, they are now good friends. I have photographed their engagement session, their amazing wedding in Burlington, the belly session and now their first child’s newborn session. It’s been such a thrill to document these important and joyous milestones in their lives; a true honor and pleasure! Brynn is just gorgeous, she’s a perfect little angel. She was 14 days old on this beautiful day. I brought my studio gear to Taryn and TJ’s home for this session. Brynn was amazingly cooperative as far as baby’s in newborn sessions go. It’s usually touch and go in any newborn session, we get some nice images then the baby needs to be fed or changed, or we need to clean or change the backdrop, then we’ll wait for the baby to fall asleep again in hopes for more great images before they wake up and the cycle repeats itself again. Brynn gave us some nice, long stretches of time to get some amazing photos. I was excited to try all of my brand new hats I had bought just a few weeks before. Brynn did such a great job modeling all the latest new styles! Taryn and TJ were a huge help during the session and as patient as any parent could be. Taryn and TJ are great friends of Kendra and Chris, the parents of Cam who’s newborn session I photographed a month earlier. TJ works with Chris as a Burlington Vermont Firefighter. He’s a strong man with a warm heart. I love the images of tiny, newborn Brynn in the arms of her big, strong dad…classic! Little Brynn is so adorable and I’m looking forward to seeing her grow!

Cam’s Newborn Session, Vermont Newborn Photographer

Awww Cam! He’s so cute. I was really excited for Cam’s newborn session, after all his parents are some of my favorite people; Kendra & Chris, who’s amazing wedding in Punta Cana Dominican Republic, and their Engagement and Trash the Dress sessions was one of my most favorite jobs ever! Who doesn’t want to be flown to Punta Cana, Domincan Republic to photograph a relaxed wedding on a beautiful beach, barefoot in the sand? Well I was excited to meet Cam, only 9 days old and super cute! Upon arrival Cam was not as excited for the session as we had hoped, that is he was not ready to sleep for a long time despite Kendra’s best efforts to put him into a milk coma. It wasn’t until about 3 hours into the session that Cam finally fell into that deep sleep I was waiting for. He was now in that place where I could put him into all sorts of fun positions without disturbing him. So this marathon session took close to 5 hours but it was so worth it! Chris brought along his fireman gear which made for some very powerful, moving images. We also threw in some New England Patriots paraphernalia as Kendra and Chris are the biggest Pats fans in the world…or so they like to think. We finished with some super funny images with the theme of Cam ‘drunk on milk at the local bar’…it was hilarious! For me, it was so great to document Kendra and Chris going from fiances, to newlyweds and then to parents of a beautiful baby boy…one of the greatest rewards a photographer could ever have!

Adam’s Newborn Session

It was only last August when I photographed Shannon and Keith’s intimate wedding at the Mt Top Inn and it was to my great surprise when I found out they were expecting a baby boy and his name would be Adam! I guess they loved their wedding photos so much they decided to name their first born son after me. It’s no surprise, I’m getting used to this as it happens all the time No but really, I did feel a great connection w/Shannon and Keith and when told me they were going to drive all the way from West Haven, CT to my studio in Burlington, VT I was totally honored! When they arrived, I was so excited to see them again, this time as parents instead of newlyweds. It was great to meet Adam, what a little cutie pie. I decided it was time they knew, so after we got started w/the newborn session, I let them know that I had photographed their wedding on my birthday. They were so surprised and asked why I didn’t say anything. I reminded them it was their day and I happily made the decision to share in it. So it seemed like serendipity, all of these cool connections! Little Adam did great for his first photo session; after Shannon got him into a proper ‘milk coma’ we were able to play around and make some beautiful images. As a photographer, newborn sessions are often challenging but so worth it. For parents, this precious time flies by in just a few weeks, and then your little one is full-steam ahead into baby-hood. There’s no second chance to capture images of this amazing stage of life. It was so great to see Shannon and Keith and to meet Adam and I can’t wait to see their family grow!

MIRABELLE’S NEWBORN SESSION, VERMONT NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHER

Beautiful 15 day old Mirabelle. A sleepy little angel. What a joy it was to meet Mirabelle and photograph her newborn session. Bryan and Val were really tired when I arrived to their house, but more than anything they were so happy and proud! As a photographer there are few things as rewarding as photographing a couple’s wedding followed by documenting them becoming a family and growing. It’s quite an honor to share in such joyous times in people’s lives.
