April and Jon married recently and their wedding was a memorable day indeed. When I arrived it was raining and the forecast was calling for more rain throughout the day. These are the moments when a couple (and a wedding photographer) are put to the test. Do you let the weather bum you out to the point of taking all the fun out of your wedding day? With April and Jon the answer was as resounding “NO, because we’re having fun today!” They were fortunate enough to have their first look and the ceremony outside just before a storm blew in. From the photos, you’d never know how wet it was that day! But these guys rallied and made the most of every moment. They stayed focused on their love and made some beautiful memories in the story of their lives. And as I mentioned, on a rainy day there’s often a break and the lighting can be magical for photos. Well…we got that break and watched the rain give way to a dreamy mist rising off the water and in the fields, a rainbow and some really beautiful photo ops. We were also indoors for many of the formal photos. The idea was to try and maximize the variety of bride/groom photos indoors, while keeping it creative and fun. April and Jon agreed to some sexy, Hollywood style indoor portraits as we waited out the rain at one of the houses on the property. Suddenly the sky cleared, just long enough for us to get outside for photos in the beautiful post-rain mist. After those ‘bonus’ bride/groom photos, April and Jon arrived to the house where the family and reception was awaiting them. There they found many beautiful hand-made details and decorations. It was an emotional day for the couple and their families…love was in the air! I was truly impressed with this couple as they stayed focused on the positive, their love and commitment, the support and love of their families and the joy of the day. April and Jon, you are a beautiful couple and I enjoyed sharing in your very memorable wedding day!
Thank you, Adam! All of the photos turned out great and it was awesome working with you!!
