It was a gorgeous summer day when Nicole and Rich married. The venue they chose was the Basin Harbor Club in Vergennes, VT. This beautiful place is quite a little gem. Generations of families have vacationed there over the years and they keep going back for a good reason. Nestled on the shores of Lake Champlain, it’s loaded with lots of quaint little cabins and beautiful full-sized guest houses, a great beach and marina, boating, swimming, golfing, live music….the list goes on and on. As I drove up to the house where Nicole was getting ready I was amazed how many kids where out walking and biking on the interconnecting roads of the resort and realized what a safe, family environment it is for kids and everyone. It felt like I was walking into a fairytale…and I was, the story of Rich and Nicole’s wedding day! I hadn’t met these guys before that day and was excited to finally meet. From the moment I arrived they made me feel like we were old friends…or like I was part of their family. Nicole and Rich are a sweet, loving and fun couple! Photographing these guys was just too easy; a beautiful couple, and stunning backdrops everywhere we turned. The ceremony was heartfelt and wonderfully let by wedding officiant Kathryn Bloom. The small but lively group of guests were treated to delicious food and drinks by the in house catering at Basin Harbor Club. A definite highlight of the day was watching Rich and Nicole doing their first dance as husband and wife while the sun was setting across the water. Just as they finished dancing, the last drop of sunlight dipped behind the Adirondack mountains across the lake….the timing was magical and I think at that moment everyone was wondering if we really were in a fairytale. Other highlights included super cool table decorations made by Nicole, fabulous music all day and night by solo artist Rob Ranney, and one of the most emotional father-daughter dances I’ve ever witnessed at a wedding. I think just about everyone there was crying tears of joy or fighting back those tears…it was amazing to share in those moments! I had such a great time at this wedding. The energy and pace of the day was so relaxed and you couldn’t have asked for a better couple to celebrate with.
